Marios Karystios beautifully designed the packaging for Anhydrous Winery’s Icon wine. The bottle is gorgeously wrapped in a layer of paper illustrated with the winery’s distinct history. While the paper is highly maximalist, it contrasts with the minimal design of the bottle itself. The intricate design feels so remarkable that I’d be tempted to reuse it for future giftwrapping.
Icon is the flagship wine of Anhydrous winery. It is the authentic expression of the majestic terroir of Santorini. This great Assyrtiko, with the strong structure, the purity and density of the fruit, matures in a concrete oval tank for 9 months.
Inside the tank an internal vortex happens, a continuous movement of fine lees, offering a natural batonnage. Icon is a wine that unfolds in every sip its volcanic origin, and floods the glass with the sea breeze that surrounds the island. The oval tank, often refered as “the egg”, is depicted on the bottle with a white gradient shape that also symbolize the light and energy of the island.
